Cloud Data LLC, doing business as Cloud Talend ("Cloud Talend," "we," "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website at cloudtalend.com (the "Website"), how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to information we collect through the Website, including when you contact us or apply for a job. It does not apply to data we process on behalf of our clients when delivering services; that processing is governed by our agreements with those clients. It also does not apply to third-party websites we link to, such as our employee portal.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact inquiries: when you use our contact form, we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number, company, the service you are interested in and your message.
  • Job applications: when you apply for a position, we collect your name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn or portfolio links, resume or CV, cover letter, how you heard about us and any other information you choose to include in your application.
  • Other communications: if you email or call us, we collect the information you provide in that communication.

Please do not include sensitive information, such as government ID numbers, health information or financial account details, in your inquiry or application.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Website, our hosting and content delivery provider automatically records standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, the referring page, and the date and time of your visit. We use this information to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the Website.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on the Website. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Information from third-party content providers

To display fonts, icons and animations, the Website loads files from third-party content delivery networks (Google Fonts, jsDelivr and unpkg). When your browser requests these files, those providers receive your IP address and basic browser information, which they handle under their own privacy policies.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about our services;
  • evaluate job applications, contact candidates, conduct the hiring process and comply with employment-related obligations;
  • operate, maintain, secure and improve the Website, and detect and prevent fraud or misuse;
  • comply with applicable laws, regulations and legal processes; and
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims and protect the rights, property and safety of Cloud Talend and others.

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share personal information only as follows:

  • Service providers: with vendors who help us run our business, such as website hosting and content delivery, email, and recruiting or applicant-tracking providers. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Our offices: with Cloud Talend personnel in our offices in the United States, United Kingdom and India who need it to respond to you or to manage hiring.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or when we believe disclosure is needed to protect rights, property or safety.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this policy.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose you agree to.

5. International transfers

Cloud Talend is based in the United States and has offices in the United Kingdom and India. Your information may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. When we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to protect it as described in this policy and as required by applicable law.

6. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Contact inquiries: for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and then for a reasonable period for business records.
  • Job applications: for up to two years after the hiring decision, so we can consider you for future openings, unless you ask us to delete your application sooner or a longer period is required by law.
  • Technical logs: for a limited period, typically no longer than needed for security and troubleshooting.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for the Website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we have collected about you and access a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete your personal information;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it; and
  • appeal our decision if we decline your request.

To make a request, email us at contact@cloudtalend.com with the subject "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity before responding and will reply within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Because we do not sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there is nothing to opt out of. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of any such activity.

9. California privacy notice

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, gives you the rights described in Section 8. In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, from the sources and for the purposes described above:

  • Identifiers, such as name, email address, phone number and IP address;
  • Professional or employment-related information, such as resume, work history and LinkedIn profile, for job applicants;
  • Internet or network activity, such as pages viewed and browser information; and
  • Commercial information, such as the services you asked us about.

We disclose these categories only to the recipients described in Section 4, for business purposes. We have not sold or shared personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require an opt-out under California law.

10. UK and EEA visitors

If you are in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, Cloud Talend is the controller of your personal information. We rely on the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interests: to respond to inquiries, operate and secure the Website, and run our business;
  • Steps before entering a contract: to evaluate job applications and service inquiries you initiate;
  • Legal obligation: where processing is required by law; and
  • Consent: where you have given it, which you may withdraw at any time.

In addition to the rights in Section 8, you may have the right to object to or restrict processing and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

11. Children's privacy

The Website is intended for businesses and job seekers and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party websites

The Website contains links to third-party websites and services, including our employee portal. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, if the changes are significant, provide additional notice on the Website.
